BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Suzanne Davis is the Senior Research Officer - Jamaica Clearing-House Mechanism (CHM) at the Natural History Museum of Jamaica - a Division of the Institute of Jamaica. In this position, she manages the national programme for the CHM, a global biodiversity information network set up through the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity. Engaging locally, regionally and internationally with various biodiversity stakeholders, Dr. Davis has led or contributed to socio-ecological research and publications, capacity building for data management and information sharing, public education and outreach, and project management. Dr. Davis has a B.Sc. (Environmental Sciences option) and a M. Phil. in Zoology from The University of the West Indies, Mona specializing in bird ecology. She was awarded her Ph.D. in Geography from the Wilfrid Laurier University in Ontario, Canada where she focused on biodiversity conservation in island protected areas systems. Further, she has a Postgraduate Certificate in Spatial Information Technology from the University of Durham, England.
