Ms. Elizabeth Morrison is the Zoologist at the Natural History Museum of Jamaica (a Division of the Institute of Jamaica). In this position, she is responsible for the zoology collection of over 110,000 specimens many dating back to the early 20th century. She has a strong knowledge of taxonomy to guide her in collecting specimens and adding specimens brought in by researchers. Ms. Morrison was one of the team of Jamaicans who travelled to the University of Glasgow, Scotland for the repatriation of a Jamaican Giant Galliwasp specimen to Jamaica, where it is now located in the NHMJ under Ms. Morrison's care. Many of Jamaica's plant and animal specimens are located not in Jamaica, their homeland but in the United Kingdom as they were collected by researchers during colonial times. Ms. Morrison has a B.Sc. double major Zoology/Botany and a M.Sc. in Natural Resources Management from The University of the West Indies.
