Mr. Carvel Thompson is a Senior Laboratory Technician with the Jamaica Bauxite Institute (JBI). The JBI is the government agency responsible for regulating the bauxite industry in Jamaica to ensure its contribution to Jamaica’s development with minimal impact on our environment. He has a Bachelors of Science degree (B.Sc.) in General Chemistry from The University of the West Indies (UWI). In addition to working in the laboratory at the JBI, he is a STEM Ambassador for the Scientific Research Council where he assists in implementing their outreach programmes.
